SensIrOx Management
Team
J. Michael Grubb, President & CEO, was Business Manager for Geo-Tech
Polymers in Westerville, Ohio from 1999 to 2005. In this position he
was
responsible for all commercial development aspects of the company
including
sales, marketing, and materials procurement. He was a co-inventor of
the
specialized thermoplastics recycling process developed and
commercialized by
Geo-Tech. Before that he held positions of increasing responsibility in
sales, sales management, strategic market development and product
management
for several companies including Bayer MaterialScience, Magna
International,
Cytec Fiberite Corporation and LNP Engineering Plastics. Mr. Grubb
holds a
BS degree in Chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Consultant, Research
and Development: Jay Johnson,
Ph.D. works with SensIrOx as the company's Vice President
of Research & Development. Johnson is an expert in product
and process research and development. He also has extensive,
specific expertise in the design and application of interference
rejecting materials onto electrochemical sensors. He has
a total of eleven publications and seven issued US patents
covering various aspects of chemical and biosensors. He
has nearly 30 years of experience as a manager and senior
researcher at a company that is a world leader in life
sciences sensor instrumentation.
SensIrOx Board of Directors
John Robechek, Chairman,
Board of Directors, was president of the U. S. subsidiary
(formerly Toledo Scale) of Mettler Toledo International
(NYSE: MTD) from 1995-99. Before that he spent fourteen
years at the company in progressively responsible roles
in marketing, plant management, general management, and
executive leadership. Prior to Toledo Scale he worked
in product marketing management at Reliance Electric and
in manufacturing management at TRW. He holds a BSIE degree
from Cornell and an MBA from Harvard.
Craig Stickel is a
recognized leader in market assessment and long term strategic
planning with a central focus on customer value. He has
over 25 years experience creating and executing product
and service business developments that match market needs.
He has held numerous leadership positions in business
development, marketing, manufacturing and engineering
for Mettler-Toledo, a publicly traded technology company
that is the global leader in its markets. Mr. Stickel
is currently a Managing Director of the Science and Technology
Campus Corporation (Scitech), which serves as a center
of leading-edge innovation and is a source of present
and future economic growth for Ohio, Columbus and The
Ohio State University. At Scitech, Craig is engaged in
technology startup business development.
Adel Mikhail, Ph.D.,
is one of the founders of SensIrOx. Dr. Mikhail is a relentless
biotechnology entrepreneur who has participated in founding
several technology companies, one of which went public.
Through the course of his career, he has held positions
as diverse as university faculty member, research director,
and head of business development. Currently he is the
CEO of Rescentris, Ltd., a scientific software company
targeted to meet the knowledge management needs of the
life science research community. Dr. Mikhail, a NeuroImmunologist
by training, holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
He is the author of numerous publications and patents
in the biomedical field.
Patricia Spitzner (n. Eisenhardt)
is one of the founders of SensIrOx. Her 7-year career
in the biotech field is focused on strategic business
development with an emphasis on intellectual property
portfolio development and product conceptualization. Ms.
Spitzner is the Director, New Ventures for Phylogeny,
a growing biotech company. Prior to joining Phylogeny
she co-founded and led corporate development efforts for
a BioMEMS drug delivery company, ChipRx. Ms. Spitzner
holds a BA from the University of Chicago and a MA from
Columbia University.
David Salzman, Ph.D. is one of the founders of SensIrOx. Through his previous firm, he funded the development of the sensor technologies SensIrOx now owns, and directed their animal-based biomedical experimental trials. He runs LightSpin Technologies, a venture capital financed compound semiconductor startup company; his third startup company in twelve years. He holds a BS degree from Yale and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, both in physics. He has authored more than thirty papers, patents, or pending patents.

Scientific Founder & Advisor: Marc
Madou, Ph.D. is a founder of SensIrOx and a co-inventor
of the company's core technology. Madou holds professorships
in the Center for Materials Research, Department of
Materials Science & Engineering, and Department of Chemistry
at The Ohio State University. He is also Director of
the NSF Center for Industrial Sensors & Measurements
at OSU. He has written two books and over 80 publications,
and is responsible for 13 patents with another 5 patents
pending.
Henk Verweij, Ph.D., holds the Orton Chair in Ceramic Engineering at The Ohio State University. He graduated “cum laude” from Delft University and earned his Ph.D. from Eindhoven Technical University, Netherlands. Dr. Verweij has published over 175 papers and holds 10 patents, primarily relating to the thermodynamics and transport properties of dense, porous and two-phase nanoscale composite ceramics.
